Job team

The four roles every job has, the salesperson, project manager, superintendent and foreman, one person in each, so the right person hears the right news.

A job team is the four roles every job has, filled by the salesperson, the project manager, the superintendent and the foreman.

The salesperson sold the job, the project manager runs it, the superintendent keeps the crews moving, and the foreman is on the lot. One person fills each role, and one person can fill several.

On a small crew the owner is all four. On a bigger one the roles are what keep news from landing on the wrong desk: a signed change order goes to the project manager, a rescheduled visit to the superintendent, a dispatched work order to the foreman. When a role is unfilled the news goes to the next one down the line, so nothing important goes to nobody.

A role on the job says who hears. It doesn't say what anyone is allowed to do.

Put the words to work.
