A proposal is the document a customer gets from a contractor to read and sign: the priced work, grouped by trade, with a total and how long the price holds.
They sign from a link in their email, no password to set and no app to install, and what they signed never moves, even if the contractor's prices change afterward.
If the work changes once the job is under way, a change order comes the same way, priced and ready to sign.
